Open sandwiches or smørrebrød is an important part of Danish food culture and uniquely Danish. Come and explore this old tradition of eating rye bread with a range of toppings, from herring to eggs to paté.
What you will learn in this class?
How to make smørrebrød – hands-on of how to make the wonderful Danish lunch. You will also get to know the hidden rules about flavor combinations, and why that is important! Smørrebrød is both for everyday eating and special occasions, so there are many combinations to learn. There will be fish, vegetables, meat and variations of homemade condiments.
At the end of the class we will sit down and share our lunch, and enjoy the tradition and cultures around the Danish way of eating Smørrebrød, and we will, of course, introduce snaps and beer which is also an important part of the tradition.
In our class
We will offer you tea, coffee, water and some snacks upon arrival.
You will get an apron and be shown your work station.
There are max. 16 persons in a class. The class is combination of hands-on and demo.
